PLANET MOEBIUS
From the scorching, sand-swept dunes of the Saarkis Badlands to the misty jungles of Zuahi'na, Mœbius is a wide, wild land of shining kingdoms and bestial wilderness. Dozens of nations, hundreds of city-states, villages, and settlements scatter across the great expanse. T'aarakians, Felots, and many others call Mœbius their home. Millennia of conquests and warfare have shaped dozens of cultures with 16 common languages and 9 different races. A planet, still locked in a feudal era and early in its development of civilization, compromises five continents, three oceans, one subterranean region, and two moons.

A Mœbian day is 24 hours, 730 days a year. An 11 month calendar, with 14 day weeks. The average lifespan is 30-40 years (equivalent to 60-80 human years) and is considered short-lived due to raging conflicts, and harsh environmental conditions. Many Mœbians are farmers, hunters, warriors, and artisans. Education is informal and often religious and historial, told through oral tradition. A scholar's education is only available to those with the privilege and wealth to hire tutors who have dedicated their lives to study.

Positioned in the far reaches of the galaxy beyond the gate, with no spacefaring ships of their own to explore beyond the atmosphere, Mœbius is isolated from other worlds. However, some communities have developed trade routes with the newly visited Vorut, exporting indigenous goods in exchange for knowledge and medicine. Yet, wrought with political instability from warring empires, trade is a target for raiders, and in some regions, outright illegal.

T'aarakians, physiology and culture

Believed to be descendants of the original Titans of primordial Mœbius, who existed alongside their ancient deities, T'aarakian literally means "little titan". They are physiologically defined by their pointed ears, but otherwise similar to humans. T'aarakians believe the universe was sung into existence by the deities, and that rhythm still echoes their world today, humming through the crystals of the planet Mœbius. T'aarakians are a race of martial warriors, with the unique ability to harness the hidden power of crystalline. By attuning themselves to a crystal, and placing the gemstone in their chosen instrument, it is believed they develop a link to the deities, granting them mystical abilities through song. To commune with their deities, T'aarakians have built acoustically perfect temples in their image.

T'aarakians are often members of the ruling class, or spend their lives as guardians of a chosen kingdom. Almost all have taken T'aarak's Oath, a path of honor, courage, justice, honesty, compassion, and duty. These are the Tenants of T'aarak, a belief that their faith and Titan lineage give them the responsibility to rule and protect Mœbius. However, some T'aarakians have corrupted to serve their own interests, deviating towards darker deities, and stand in mighty opposition to their brethren. Other T'aarakians opt for a life of eternal wandering, becoming adventurers in service of their fellow Mœbians.

Analog Technology and Wild Beasts

Mœbians have built many tools, and developed analog technology to enhance their lives, but there is no extranet, or commlink devices, as found in modern worlds. Great inventors have designed machines to harness the energy of crystals to varying effects. Some gems are used to propel airships, while others create prismatic beams for weaponry, but this is still very advanced. Common weapons are bow and arrows, axes, clubs, spears and swords. Tamed beasts are used to navigate long distances, deliver goods and messages, and serve as protective companions. Much of Mœbius is inhospitable, with monsters that readily eat travelers and prey upon defenseless villages.
